What does Garni mean?
Special forms of classification in the Hotelstars Union
In addition to the 1 to 5 star categories, the Hotelstars Union has introduced two special categories (garni & superior) that allow for a more differentiated assessment of each hotel's services. These two categories go beyond the simple star rating system, making it easier for travellers to find the hotel that best suits their needs. Garni (without restaurant)
A bed and breakfast hotel offers accommodation, breakfast, drinks, and, at most, light meals.
Bed and breakfast hotels, guesthouses and breakfast guesthouses can be awarded a maximum of 4 stars. The minimum criteria for ‘restaurant’ and ‘food service’ do not apply to bed and breakfast hotels, guesthouses or bed and breakfast establishments.
As it is generally not possible for a bed and breakfast hotel to achieve a sufficient total number of points to obtain a classification appropriate to its facilities, the minimum number of points is reduced by 20 points for bed and breakfast establishments.
