Brussels, 11 December 2025 – The Hotelstars Union (HSU) is breaking new ground in digital communication: With the launch of its own GPT based on OpenAI technology, the HSU now offers a round-the-clock information service on all questions relating to star classification. At the same time, an interactive AI bot is now available on the website www.hotelstars.eu, providing both travellers and hoteliers with reliable information and practical assistance.
The GPT ("Generative Pre-trained Transformer") is called “Hotelstars officially classified” and specialises in competently answering general and specific inquiries about hotel classification. He knows the criteria, processes, and key features of the star classification system, which particularly supports hoteliers. But the GPT is also helpful for travellers: Classified establishments in 18 of the 21 member countries of the Hotelstars Union can be quickly found via the GPT interface, including direct links to their websites. For guests, this means an additional level of transparency and security when choosing accommodation. This is because the listed hotels are officially classified and thus verified in real life.
"With the use of generative artificial intelligence, we are creating real added value for everyone involved," explains Markus Luthe, President of the Hotelstars Union. “The hotel classification thus shows once again how digital solutions can increase efficiency and build trust in the industry. We consider it an essential contribution to the modernisation and digital transformation of the industry."
"Our goal is to make hotel classification even more accessible, understandable and transparent for all user groups. The new GPT and the AI bot on hotelstars.eu are a vital step in this direction. They enable reliable, intuitive, and up-to-date information transfer – and at the same time strengthen the visibility of officially classified establishments in Europe," adds project manager Christin Neumann.
In addition, the new AI bot on www.hotelstars.eu automatically provides information on the classification criteria, procedures and the advantages of hotel classification. The intuitive access is designed to enhance the user experience and make it easier for both guests and partners in the hotel industry to access reliable information. With this step, the Hotelstars Union is setting new standards in digital communication in tourism quality assurance systems.
