Antique buildings and green Saarland
The route starts in the oldest city of germany, in Trier. There are numerous antique buildings which give a unique character to this city.
Furthermore the path leads towards South to Völklingen: a monument of the industrial historywas the first one of its kind and therefore makes the Völklinger hut in Western Europe unique. Additional stations on the path are the monastery Lorsch as one of the few monuments from the period of the Carolingians and the city Speyer with its imperial cathedral.
The last station is in the middle of the Swabian wine region: the monastery Maulbronn. Scenic beauties and many attractions, deciduous forests, meadows and vineyards can be expected here.
